I may get downvoted but I feel like every professional that is allowed to work with inpatient psych patients should experience that themselves for a couple of days as part of their training…. Kind of like how cops pepper spray and taser each other so they know how it feels.
Specially folks who are allow to involuntarily hold someone (judges, cops, doctors etc)
And I don’t say this to say “oh yeah they deserve to be locked up” no, not at all. I say because folks who work in this environment sometimes don’t know how their patients feel. How do you describe to someone how terrifying and alarming it feels to have your phone taken away, then being searched, and then going through the whole ordeal of recovery.
Idk am I in the wrong here? Or is this genuinely a good idea?
