I (f20) had therapy for about a year, 3 years ago now. I was still in highschool back then so my mom got me in contact with a therapist she found. I went to therapy for anxiety and depression. And this therapist is leaning on the conservative side. But I have to give credit where credit is due, she really helped me a lot in my sessions and wouldn't try to force her own opinions on me.
However, on our last session is where things got weird. She told me she won't be able to give me therapy anymore because she is going on a work sabbatical. Then she said that because it's the last session she wants to give me some "advice" because I hold a special place in her heart. She told me that she thinks i should get new friends because my friends liked drinking and smoking mary jane occasionally and she doesn't wanna see me on the tv one day for becoming a drug addict and stealing. I told her before in my sessions that I don't like to drink or smoke a lot because I have emetophobia, but i still like having fun with my friends. She also told me not to persue the guy I liked because of her own beliefs that I didn't necessarily believe in.
Anyway fast forward a little, she sends me a message asking me if i can promote her daughter's clothing brand on instagram. Kinda weird…
Last year i wanted therapy again and my mom tried getting in contact with her again. She told my mom that she's not working as a therapist at that point but she can give me advice outside of the boundries of therapy. Like why I shouldn't live with my boyfriend (I am not even living with him??) So i declined that offer.
Fast forward to a few days ago, she randomly sends me a link to a youtube video. I click on it and it's some type of video claiming that "the gay agenda is demonic". First of all she knows I don't agree with that. Secondly I am not even gay, but she knows some of my friends are. Thirdly, why would you randomly send that to one of your ex clients. I replied with question marks and she explained it wasn't targeted towards me but she just wanted me to watch it. Then proceeded to ask how i am doing, and saying she misses me, and then also complaining about her health.
In my opinion this is very unprofessional and it is making me uncomfortable. Idk what to do about this! I just needed to vent on here.
