Not sold on therapy

I tried therapy yesterday for the first time since I was a teen. I’m 35. It’s been a while. My therapist stamped me with a diagnosis and diagnosed meds. She’s known me for a whole 45-min! She doesn’t know anything about me or how I handle emotions. I didn’t feel heard. I was given a long list of homework including finding a song that will be my anthem when I’m “better.” I don’t know how any of what she asked me to do could do any good, with the exception of keeping a daily journal, but I don’t need a therapist to tell me why that’s beneficial. Not feeling hopeful that this is the route to recovery.

I’d love to hear your experiences with it!
