Therapist out of office for months… time to find a new one?

I love my therapist. She’s amazing and has helped me so much. But she’s been out of office since mid May – and won’t be back until the very end of July. She’s the only therapist in the medical practice.

At my last appointment she said if I needed to be seen while she was out, the office made arrangements and had someone I could see. Well, I’ve been having panic attacks and my hyper vigilance has been bad. So I called, because I’m not doing so great right now, and the office said sorry nothing we can do.

This isn’t the first time she’s been out for long periods of time – but it is the longest so far, last time was just a month. I know she just got engaged and is going to be out for a while again for the wedding and honeymoon in a few months.

Is it time to start looking for a new therapist? Or because we work so well together suck it up and wait it out.
